Marvel are constantly pushing the boundaries with their superhero movies & Guardians Of The Galaxy has certainly taken things to the next level, with a green woman, a scar-tattooed pro-wrestler, a walking/talking tree, a Raccoon with a machine gun and the guy from Parks & Recreation.

Those of you who stuck around for the mid-credits scene at the end of Thor: The Dark World got a brief glimpse of things to come & now we have a pretty impressive trailer.

Due for release at the end of the year, Guardians sees brash adventurer Peter Quill find himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits: Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Yep. If that synopsis doesn’t make it clear enough, Guardians is the riskiest movie to date by Marvel Studios. But, they are the team that made a billionaire-who-builds-a-flying-robot-suit-to-fight-terrorists and said-billionaire-teams-up-with-demigod-to-fight-aliens into some of the most successful movies of all time, so we’ll trust they know what they’re doing.
