Marvel Studios and director Scott Derrickson just wrapped production on Doctor Strange after shooting its final scenes in public view in downtown New York, with its characters in full costume and now we have the first trailer of what promises to be an epic movie.
Doctor Strange represents the second chapter of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which begins in just a few short weeks with Captain America: Civil War.
And since Civil War’s red carpet world premiere took place today, Disney and Marvel are utilising the buzz to promote their other 2016 tentpole.
Star Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the neurosurgeon/Sorcerer Supreme, was the featured guest on tonight’s Jimmy Kimmel Live where he presented the very first Doctor Strange teaser trailer.
Derrickson, alongside Marvel Studios boss and producer Kevin Feige (who has been pushing Strange as a passion project for many years), have frequently boasted that one of the most exciting and unique elements of this particular origin story are its mind-bending visuals. From dealing with multiple dimensions and mysticism to quantum realms and astral planes and even time, Doctor Strange is touted as being something special in 3D for the studio and now we have a least a taste of what that could look like.
